UA1871 - Ground Collision During Pushback Operations at Airport Gate
United Airlines Flight 1871 was conducting normal pushback operations from the gate at San Francisco International Airport when it collided with another United Airlines aircraft. The ground collision occurred during routine ground handling procedures while the aircraft was being maneuvered by ground crews away from the gate. Following the collision, Flight 1871 was immediately towed back to the gate where all passengers and crew deplaned safely through normal procedures. No injuries were reported among passengers, crew, or ground personnel. The incident represents a ground operations safety event during airport taxi and pushback procedures.
